SERVICES
We Bid You Welcome
What is your perception of an auction house? Only for those interested in buying antiques?
Only for the dealers? Only for the wealthy who have homes full of valuables who want them
selling on their behalf?
Perhaps - once upon a time. Maybe when Outhwaite and Litherland first started 100
years ago - but not now. Not anymore - like every other type of business we have moved
with the times. From categorising sales to going on line - auctioneering now appeals to a much
wider market... and more and more people are discovering that it’s an exciting, fascinating and
vibrant world of buying and selling. Buying at an auction appeals to all the same people that
walk around antique fairs and car boot sales each weekend hoping to spot a bargain -selling
through an auction appeals to everybody who has something lying around their home that can
be turned into cash!
And no - we are not just looking for the unusual items that will ‘fetch a fortune' we have
numerous sale categories which means we are in an enviable position of being able to take
almost anything from anyone, anywhere.
Which is great news for you.
Whether you are looking to clear a whole house, or single items from household goods
to granny’s antique chest of drawers, we are happy to take it off your hands and sell it on
your behalf.
Welcome to today’s world of auctioneering from a company who’s been around long enough
to know the business of antiques is as much about tomorrow as it is knowing about yesterday.

Things to come
Naturally, like most other businesses we are finding that people's time is precious and we
need to make it easier and quicker for people to find information or to have valuations.
Below is a list of things that we are going to add to this site in the future to show that we
mean business.
We already execute bids on your behalf if you can't attend a sale, but soon you will
be able to make a bid online after browsing through the sales catalogue on our website.
Our site will also allow you to have an online evaluation by completing form or
scanning and emailing a photograph to us.
We will also be creating a knowledge base of freqeuntly asked questions and answers
that will be catalogued into a useful reference manual for visitors to the site.
There is going to be a page showing some examples of the most unusual restorations
that we have undertaken.
As well as links to other antique related sites, www.lots.uk.com will be your one stop shop.
